Jan 16, 2018, Jin-Xin Xiao participates in "9th Zhejiang journal for overseas students: Symposium of Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Overseas Returnees". Jin-Xin Xiao presents a lecture titled "C4-fluorianted surfactants: a world-leading technology for high-efficiency fire-fighting agent".

On the year of 2017-2018, our institute has cooperate with MT.Fire control, Yangtze Delta Region Institute of Tsinghua University, Zhejiang. Jin-Xin Xiao hold the post of director of "Centre of Smart Fire-fighting application". Our Aqueous film-forming foam (AFFF) has passed the 3C compulsory certification by Ministry of public security, and the performance of AFFF reaches the highest rating.

September 2015, A novel product of Aqueous Film-Forming Foam (FLUOBON C4-AFFF) has been developed by our institute, whose fire-extinguishing time is qualified as IA grade. This product is the first case of AFFF based on short fluorocarbon chain (C4), containing no PFOS or PFOA etc. Comparing with C6-based AFFF, FLUOBON C4-AFFF truly corresponds with the spirit of Stockholm Convention, because according to literature report, fluorocarbon chain £ 4 would be neglectable in affecting environment or human body.

Oct 30, 2014, our book “Application Principle of Surfactants” (J.-X. Xiao and Z.-G. Zhao, Chemical Industry Press, Beijing, 2003, in Chinese) has been published three times (15000 copies sold) since 2003. Now the second edition is processed as requested by the publisher (Chemical Industry Press).

January 4, 2011, the research article titled "Hydrogenated and Fluorinated Host-Guest Surfactants: Complexes of Cyclodextrins with Alkanes and Fluoroalkyl-Grafted Alkanes" is accepted by the famous international academic journal "Chemistry - A European Journal". We propose a concept of "Host-Guest Surfactant" and have successfully designed and synthesized the hydrogenated and fluorinated host-guest surfactants. The headgroup and the hydrophobic tail in this kind of surfactants are connected by supramolecular interactions rather than covalent bonds.
